Another day, another piece of content that might be in your interest. So, Apple’s latest update iOS 16 got tons of novel features that mesmerised all users. Yet, there are some other hidden features in the corner that might leave you in awe too. If you have been using iPhone for ages and you love the tactile feel of typing on your iPhone, you might have noticed that it just disappears when you set your phone on silent mode. Or could be that you love the tactile feeling but the tick-tick sound irritates you. If that’s the case, then thanks to Apple, it resolved this issue by introducing the feature of Keyboard Haptics feedback.
Enable Keyboard Haptics on iOS 16.
Basically, Keyboard haptic is the feel of the “tick” you get on your fingertips when you touch the keyboard of your iPhone. Unlike any other keyboard, it’s so smooth and feels so satisfactory on your fingertips. Indeed, iPhone has the best keyboard haptic engine in the market and we suggest you give it a try. Just make sure your iPhone is updated to the recent iOS 16 by going to your Settings> General> Software Update.
If your device is not updated to iOS 16, update it first and enjoy the keyboard haptic feature by following these easy steps afterwards:
- Open your Settings app.
- Navigate to Sounds & Haptics.
- Tap Keyboard Feedback.
- you shall find two toggles Sound and Haptic. Be acknowledged that you can control both options separately.
- If you like the Tick-tick sound along with the tactile feel, toggle on the Sound option.
- Whereas if you don’t like the sound you can disable sound and keep the Haptic toggle on.
Now just open any typing app and test your keyboard haptics. If there is no tactile feel on your iPhone’s keyboard, don’t worry there is a fix for this. Vibration has to be enabled on your iPhone in order for keyboard Haptics to work. To turn on Vibration, do the following:
- Head back to Settings.
- Navigate to Accessibility.
- Tap on Touch under Physical and Motor.
- Scroll until you see Vibration, and turn it on.
- Test your keyboard by typing. It shall be fixed after doing this step.
If you feel you still need more clarification on how to turn keyboard haptics on, make sure to watch the following video.
Long story short, unlike earlier, even if you keep your iPhone on silent mode, your keyboard haptics won’t stop working. Your fingertips would still enjoy the tickle on silent mode, which is the plus point of keyboard haptics on iOS 16. However, there is a dark side to this feature which may keep you from turning it on. Many Apple users reported that turning on keyboard haptics, unfortunately, is draining their device’s battery. So, if you are one of those who love the tactile feel while typing, you have to keep this drawback in mind. Anyhow, luckily, Apple always comes up with solutions for these kinds of issues. We will be writing about the solution soon, so stay tuned.
